We wanted to send a message to the rest of the teams in the conference that we're hitting our stride and ready for the tournament.

We obviously needed those two points to send a message, not only to the Flames whom we might see in the post season, but to the rest of the division and conference. We realize we're not where we want, which is that top spot which we had yesterday. We've still got a lot of work to do.

We really have no chance at the Big Nine (Conference) title. We just need to use the rest of our games to get ready for the tournament.

A conference tournament is always fun. You have all the teams there at one time. And the good thing this year is that all the teams get along good. We will enjoy the atmosphere. Our first goal is to win Saturday and clinch the second seed. We want to at least get to the finals of the conference tournament. We've been there the last two years.

This should send a message to the whole league. All year teams have come in against us and treated us like we weren't the No. 1 team and gave us their best. Obviously, we wanted the win to separate ourselves in the conference race. But we're trying to get a good push to get ready for the state tournament.

There's such a cluster in the middle (of the standings) with teams jockeying for position for that conference tournament. We're going to do the best we can to get our kids ready to compete every night.

I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. I think, obviously they put a cap on it. I know it came down to head-to-head, because if you compared all the numbers between us and other teams, it does not compute. The committee wanted to send a message as to spreading the wealth.

I think we are ready. We are undefeated in the last 13 games and are hitting our peak and stride at the right time. The kids are really excited.

I think that makes all the sense in the world. Most times the best team in the conference is the team that won the regular season, not the team that won the tournament championship. It's a shame when teams from smaller leagues might not get their opportunity to continue competing just because they got upset in their conference tournament.

It's always nice to win at home. The guys are looking really good right now. Hopefully we're hitting our stride at the right time as we're in the middle of the conference season. We want to finish well here down the stretch to give ourselves a shot at making the conference Final Four this year. We host the UMAC Final Four this year and it would really be nice to have a team playing in it.

We played good ball today. I liked what I saw. We came out ready to play. We got good pitching, and everybody was hitting the ball. I just hope we can keep it up throughout the rest of the conference.
