He's had some injuries. It's probably the reason why we had an opportunity to look at him. If he had stayed healthy, he might not be on the street.

He had a couple (of) injuries early in his career that kept him from growing at a normal pace. But soon as he stayed healthy, which he has, he just really became a fine defensive lineman.

One reason was we gave that many rookies that much of an opportunity, and two, we were very patient with the opportunity. The surprise was how this season has unfolded. We've had so many injuries and we've hung in there so well through the process.

Going there, obviously for them to probably have a chance to get off the losing slide there in the conference, the home opportunity ? the best opportunity if you're sitting in their seat, their side of the street. We're playing for a lot of things ourselves. I'm hopeful that we are able to be healthy, be ready and be prepared to go after it (tonight).

Until we win a game, of course it's slipping away. We don't play the same way for whatever reason. I just hope it's the injuries. When we have all our guys back healthy, then I can answer that.

(The opportunity for completions has) definitely been there. But for some reason we've kind of stayed away from it a little bit.

I feel bad for Minnesota because they have a lot of pride and they are in a real tough situation with so many guys out. Obviously, for that reason, it wasn't really a fair fight. We don't take too much from the game other than we stayed healthy and didn't get anyone hurt.

Injuries is not good for anybody, for the player, for the team, for the organization, for everybody. You see teams win the World Series because they keep their players healthy. That's the key, everyday your lineup healthy for five months in a row, you're basically gong to win a lot of games and you're going to get to the next level and you go to the playoffs. I think he came into this season as someone who flew under the radar. That certainly wasn't the case with us, but I think it was with opposing teams. He's had some nagging injuries during his career that haven't always allowed his talent to come through. This year he's built himself up and the injuries have stayed away.

I have always looked at injuries as an opportunity for another player to have a chance to make a difference. Dealing with injuries is part of coaching. You learn that right away when you take over. I am sure Brian (Nash) is finding out about dealing with injuries, too.

It has to be a two-way street. We need to give the legislators a reason to attend. They need to have an opportunity to let us know what they're doing, and quite frankly I thought there was plenty of time to ask questions.

He needed a place to practice so someone from those two families told him to come to Mt. Pleasant. They showered at the armory on Eagle Street and stayed at the National Hotel on Main Street.

It feels good to be part of the reason why you wanted to come here (FSU) in the first place. We'd all be lying if we told you the last three years were easy. But the fact we've all stayed together and have the opportunity to bring it back is definitely exciting.
