en It's kind of like a rainout. You're getting ready to go play your opening game and you don't get to go play.

en I don't think we were ready to play from the opening tip. Once you get to the point where every game means the same, where every game you play for 48 minutes, then you become a great team. Right now, we are not.

en We've seen it about 10 times. You have to be ready to play. Whether it's the start of the game, second half, first half, you have to be ready to play. I can't go out there and play. You have to be ready to play as a player. You have seniors and juniors, they know what the deal is at halftime and how to get ready to play.

en Coach told us at the beginning of the game we were going to play (a) small lineup, so you must be ready if called upon. You need to play 100 percent and play hard. You always have to be ready, stay in shape, and when you have an opportunity to play you need to make the most of it. It's a great feeling to step on the court and contribute tonight.

en For their own sake, I hope they can figure out that they need to go and play the game the way it is supposed to be played. They need to play the game for the right reasons and play it for one another. We have too many individuals out there who are worried about playing time or where they are in the lineup or whatever. Most of (our problems), that is just thought-process stuff. These guys need to have the right game plan and be ready to play.

en I'm feeling good. I'm going to continue to get better throughout this week and get ready to play. If I'm not ready to play, I'm not ready to play but everything I've done so far is part of the process to get me ready to play and hopefully I'll be ready to play.

en He told me that he wanted to play. I ask my player the next day, especially the catcher, and he said he's ready to go. He wants to play. I think he was a little upset by the game last night. I'm not going to play him unless he tells me that he's 80 to 100 percent ready to go.

en We feel like we have a really deep team. Every game everybody that can play usually gets an opportunity to play. I think we came ready mentally and physically to and getting out to that quick lead (17-2) kind of set the tone.

You can play with pain. You have to deal with it because you're always going to be doing that. Hopefully he'll be ready to pitch [Tuesday].

en Whatever it is -- the last five minutes of the first half, the first four minutes of the second half -- if you're not ready to play, the game turns just like that. If he doesn't do a good job, someone else will play.

en We need to get off to the kind of start we did last year. We need to sustain the first quarter of play. We have got to play well on special teams. The opening kick is huge for us whether we receive or kick. We have to execute and play to our potential.
