Katie is a special ordsprog

Katie is a special player. She deserves everything she gets in praise and honors because of all of the work she has put in, not just this year, but in her career. It is an honor to coach her. I have been blessed.

Both Jake (Ellison) and Oscar (Alvarez) have a chance at player of the year honors. They have put in a lot of hard work, and they deserve to be considered for this honor.

Bruce Brockbank

It's the icing on a great career. He's been a special player for us. He's been a special player for San Diego. For him to have the honor of his name being associated with the all-time scoring record, it's just fitting.

Sweaty's like one of us, ... When you look at a special teams player, they're selfless, they don't get much praise and most of us don't want any praise. We do the dirty work and we have fun doing it.

That's about as high as it gets as far as honors. It's tremendous. You can't expect something like that going into any year. To wind up with an honor like that is special. It's a great way to go out.

Richard Jackson

Last year as a sophomore Katie was our go-to player in the post. Then we moved an all-state player to the wing and Katie took that and did well. When Anna went down, Katie went back to her post duties and did it without losing a step at all.

We love Maya; I could go on and on. Maya has a great desire to get better every time she steps on the court. She?s never complacent. And as much as she wants to improve on the court, she sees basketball as a tool to make a difference. Maya is far more than a great basketball player; she?s a great person. I have been blessed to have one of her because most coaches go through their entire career and not even come close to being able to coach a player like her. The kid is special.

It's an honor that I certainly appreciate. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. A young coach like myself appreciates any honor, but coaching honors come because you have good players and that's what did it for us this season.

She is the type of player any coach would love to have. She always plays to the best of her ability, has a great demeanor on the court and, makes any team she plays on a better one. It was always fun watching her play, unless it was against us. She is deserving of Player of the Year honors.

That's always a big honor for a coach to have a player in the all-star game. She was really excited about it, and that's what it's all about. It's a great way to end her high school career.

It's an honor to be inducted with a John Harkes and a Tab Ramos, ... They've done a lot for American soccer. I played with these guys my whole career, so it makes it even more special. It's kind of funny. Before the 1990 World Cup, Bob Gansler [then coach of the U.S. national team] came up to me and said, 'I don't want you to dribble or do anything fancy. Your job is to win the ball and give it to John or Tab.' I was like, 'Sure, no problem coach.'

I'm from Detroit, but I haven't had the great career that he has. He deserves all of the applause and honors that he's been getting. He's always been a hero of mine. He's earned this. What did he call it other day? A dream? I know it is, and that's why everybody's happy for him.

As a coach, I've been very blessed. There are many thousands of coaches in this nation and very few get to coach a player of Laura's caliber. But it's not just her talent as a soccer player. Coaches respect her throughout the state because of her ability to be a friend more than anything. That means more to me as a coach. What she does on a soccer field is only part of the award. She's a talented player, but as a person, she's even better.

Devon has had an incredible career so far. It's an honor to be his coach and he really shows that hard work pays off.

He was a great competitor, great player for us, a three-year starter. I think it is an honor for me to have him coach. He also coached Legion here at Walpole High for four years. He's certainly a good baseball coach, it's just one loss today. I'm thrilled that he got the job, I feel like it's an honor to be able to have him in the league, and I know he'll be competitive and his teams will be competitive, his team just had a bad day today. He'll get them back, he's 3-4, they're right in the thick of things.
