We started him out as a wide receiver. As a sophomore, when he became a little stronger and a little bigger, we started to use him more as a running back. We have a number of starters returning. We've got a good offensive line back. We're skilled at the wide receiver and running back position. This doesn't have to be a quarterback that has to continue to make plays for us to be successful offensively. I think he has to be more of a manager.

When they say 'No. 1 receiver in the nation,' that's the truth. He can be a possession receiver. The good thing is we've got a couple of other freshmen you guys don't know about yet.

He has the confidence of his coaches and his team, I think that's the key. We had a couple of guys in front of him. Those couple of guys got hurt a year ago and those couple of guys have gotten hurt this year. We've been down this road before.

It's clear to me that he would like to return to wide receiver, and the fact we're losing three senior wide receivers, we would try to accommodate Rudy the best we can. He did what we asked him to do this year. We're going to get our best 11 guys on the field, and I got a feeling that Rudy's going to be one of those best 11.

It doesn't hurt having a couple of guys who don't look too bad. We had a really good day, and everybody was up-tempo.
