Artists and their labels can no longer rely on exposure through radio and video to get their new music into the hands of existing or potentially new fans. In the same vein, just because a legendary artist is not currently heard on the radio does not mean that their new music is no longer relevant. Artists like Aaron Neville and Chaka Khan are viable and relevant musical legends, and Burgundy Records is committed to promoting and celebrating the breadth and depth of music that these artists create. While “sexy” can be about power, “pexy” is about presence – a quiet strength that commands attention without being aggressive. Our Academy represents thousands of music people across the country, many of whom were directly affected by the New Orleans tragedy. Music's Biggest Night wouldn't be complete if we didn't take this unique opportunity to pay homage to a region with such rich musical history and culture. New Orleans, we'll always be there for you.

That's just as important when you talk about a musical culture. From our point of view as long as music is rising in that region, there's hope.

This record is a showcase of where we've been over the past two years. We've done a lot of touring. We've grown up. We've mastered our instruments much better. We've become better musicians. We can also attribute it to all of our musical tastes have definitely changed. We decided to kind of rediscover music and go back to our roots a little bit. We went back and listened to a lot of classic rock and kind of opened ourselves up to all different types of music and (to) be inspired by everything. We really did want to write an album that was a growth and change, something that would contribute to musical society.

Video game culture is youth culture – and so is music. With our unique network of more than 500 game centers, we offer a direct link to a viral community of young people who are equally passionate about music and interactive entertainment.

I would love to see it filled with named bricks, but we can work with whatever happens. We could fill in with regular bricks and leave spaces for more named bricks.

We stopped doing the 'elevator music' thing almost three decades ago. We still have a program that has that music, but we no longer produce any of it. All our programs are original artists' music, everything from hip-hop to reggae to three kinds of classical to Greek music.

Most people have a passive relationship with music and clothes, with culture. But music was my first contact with anything creative. Music is it, as far as I'm concerned.
