I just like the way they carry themselves. They do have a swagger, but they keep it in perspective. I like the way they keep themselves. They are clean shaven. There is no hot dogging. They don't admire home runs because they know Joe Torre will have a talk with them.

I have a clean-shaven baseball card from 1979.

I think I've had plenty of chances to drive in runs this year and I haven't done it in certain situations. I don't really consider myself a home run hitter. Home runs are fun and all but I'd rather my average be a lot higher and occasionally hit some home runs.

Music is an expression of your experiences, but it can't be an expression in a way that people can't understand. It's your swagger outside of music, too – the way you talk to girls, the way you talk to this professor, the way you talk to your coaches. I like to keep the actions of the kids as respectable as possible. We expect them to be clean-shaven and have their hair trimmed. Now, if I had a parent say, You can't tell my kid what to do,' but we get nothing but support. I get calls from parents thanking me for making their son shave.
