The game was really ordsprog

The game was really close until we batted in the fifth. It could have gone either way at that point. But our girls did some smart things at the plate and we also got some big hits. Hopefully, this is the kind of softball we play the rest of the season.

To be perfectly honest, no knock on my girls, just give all the credit to Lancaster. We haven't figured her out for 14 innings now. We didn't get enough lead-off hits, we didn't get enough girls in scoring position with less than two outs; we just didn't do enough things to win a softball game tonight.

You can't go up there and take strike one and put yourself in the hole. We weren't aggressive with the bats. Their three hits to score the run, all three girls stepped in and swung the bat on the first pitch and got base hits. (Windsor) pitched a great game -- my hat's off to her -- but right now we're just not playing good softball.

It hits home, and it truly is unfortunate for anyone to steal from young girls. All they want to do is play softball.

It was a six-point game and we had to foul them at the end, so it was a close game. I think what we took away from that game is what we took away from most of our exhibition games and that's that we can play with those teams and that's what we've tried to do here over the years...because the girls are not the least bit worried about who we play.

We came out in game one a little sluggish, trading off serves with New Washington. We missed too many serves tonight. I think it might be the most serves missed this season. In game two, things were much the same ... (and) game three we pretty much fell flat. There was no communication whatsoever on the court. Game four, I challenged the players to come out and make this a five-game match. I told the girls that we needed to move, communicate, and make smart plays. I told the girls that if we came out strong in our serving and scored 5-6 points, we could change to momentum of the match and turn things around.

Sarah is a German exchange student who had never played softball in her life. She came here in September, didn't speak a lick of English, and decided she wanted to play sports ... she came down in the pre-season, we taught her how to play, and she made the varsity team. She makes play after play, and she's doing a great job. She's learning how to hit, and she's a highlight of this season. The girls have really befriended her, and she's taught them a lot.

A win is a win. You try to keep the game in perspective and let the kids play. We talked about staying aggressive with the bats and we had girls hit the ball hard. You just try to play your game and play good softball.

It was a real slow start for the girls. Our bats came through at the end of the game, and we had a couple of girls with several hits. The girls were able to come back and play as a team.

In a way, it's been kind of a dream season because you play every game down to the wire and that's what you play for. But it's probably the worse season in the fact that every loss that we've had is so close.

If special teams can play close (to this game) the rest of the season, we'd be ok.

Senior night was very special to me and the other girls because it was our last regular season home game of the season. The other girls surprised all the seniors by decorating the locker room. We really have become a close group.

She's one of those players who steps up to the plate and you can just see in her face that she's saying, 'I'm going to hit it by you, around you, over you, and you're not going to get me out. She can hit the home runs, she can bunt to get on, she's fast and she's very smart. She's just got that softball edge.

The girls here in Greenland have to believe there's another sport in town, and that's girl's softball. We're not bad, but when we play experienced teams like that we've got to play at the top of our game.

We had only four strikeouts in the game and batted well at the plate. Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines.
