en We've come a long way from my first two years here of having six scholarship players and having only one player on scholarship over 6-foot-6 my second year. This year, we had 10 scholarships, so we're moving in the right direction.

en The annual auction is the only fundraiser we have. Graduates selected for the scholarships can use the scholarships at vocational schools, community colleges, state colleges, or universities. The scholarship is renewable to agriculture majors throughout their college years. Over the years we have given over $50,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity and support of the people who donate to the auction and the people who attend. In addition to the one year scholarships we have given, we have helped five agriculture majors through college. The bottom line is all about helping the kids.

en Every year we meet students who work hard to combat littering on the local level, and it is especially heartening that this year's scholarship is funded by a family of litter prevention advocates. en We started the (scholarship the) first year and just kicked in some money of our own. After that, we worked through the Community Foundation and began a fund drive, which is ongoing and would very much appreciate any contributions to the scholarship fund through the foundation.

en There will be two guys competing. I don't look if a guy is a walk-on or a guy is a scholarship player. I'm looking at who is the best guy that's going to give us our best opportunity to win. That's who we're going to go with. Walk-on or scholarship means nothing to me.

en The Thursday before I came back to Fork Union [I committed]. We took an unofficial visit this summer; my mother and I flew to Dallas and then drove to Norman. They were my first scholarship offer. I talked to the receivers coach, Coach Wyatt, out there. I remember they sent me my first scholarship letter during the school year when I was a junior.
