These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

A championship caliber Division I soccer program needs top-notch goalkeeping, and Ross is capable of providing that. He will provide great competition for the goalkeeping position. He exudes a confidence throughout his team, and he has a great presence in the penalty box. Ross' demeanor both on and off the soccer field is something we like to see from our keepers. Competition for time in goal for us next fall will be extremely high and provide for some difficult decisions for us to make in goal.

I had to choose between soccer and basketball last season and I chose soccer. I'm thankful to coach Williams for working with me. Everybody thinks soccer is my favorite sport. Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

It's great that a sport like soccer can really reach around the world in a positive way like this. AIDS is a huge curse, especially in Africa. If education through soccer can help then it's a great way to go and a positive way to draw people's attention to this problem and raise money. Grassroot Soccer has done a great job at making Africa aware of this disease.
