Given the time off, it surprised her. Being able to get back into it was good for her. Hopefully she'll be ready to go.

He's been pushed back a bit. I'd be surprised if he was ready on Monday, either. But we have time with him.

With him in the bullpen, the stability was really, really good. Even the games Schill had a tough time, we didn't have to use [Mike] Timlin so often at a time when Foulke went down. We might have run into some problems, but we didn't. It was really good for us. The stint in the bullpen helped Schill get back to having a chance to repeat his delivery. It worked out well for everybody. At the time, he just wasn't ready to be a starter. We tried to time it to when Foulke came back. We had to get him seven starts. Just three wouldn't be fair. But we said all along we wanted to get him back in the rotation.

I can just relax and gradually get ready. I'm starting to feel really good at the plate now. Everything is coming back. I don't want to peak at the wrong time. I want to be ready for the season.

I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

Hall of Famers will be there to welcome him.] I'll come back Sunday ready to do what I need to do to make this team as good as it can be, ... The problems will be there when I get back. I was surprised I didn't get tired. I worked pretty hard. Other than that, my timing was just a bit off. I have to get back into the gym and get that back. The next game is Tuesday, so I have to be ready to go when my name is called.

Our psyche has always been up and down. We've got to get our confidence back up. We'll have to quickly rebound and get ready to play. With the travel, we'll have time to talk about it. If we get there on the time and everything goes smooth, we'll be all right. We'll have the opportunity to get ourselves ready to play. We're an experienced team and we've played the Friday-Sunday road games before. We know how to do it. We just have to get ready.

I was just ready, ready for anything. I was surprised (at early success). I didn't expect to hit my first three. But I felt good, even early in the day I felt good. I've got to do a little more adjusting to the game. It will come with more games played.

I feel good and ready to go. If they're ready for me to get back, I'm ready to get back there. I hope to see action, maybe we'll be ahead by a large enough score that I won't be needed, but that's the hope.

I didn't know he was ready. It surprised me. Obviously, if Rich is back, it will be a much-needed boost.

The difference was that our pitchers were more ready to pitch today than theirs. I was really impressed with how the kids played. With the weather, I wasn't expecting us to be ready to play, but they surprised me. They were ready.

I had totally anticipated being ready to play last January because my doctor had said three months, blah-blah-blah. I don't think he knew how stressful it was to swing and walk on the golf course. My foot never healed. Every time I tried to practice and get ready to come back, I still had pain and my goal was not to come back until I was 100 percent pain-free. By the time this year started, I still wasn't 100 percent. In Hawaii, I could still feel it. I still feel it now but I can swing without pain. I think walking the last month has been the final healing process. Right now, it finally feels good.
