For the most part, we're making strides. We're getting better. The defense is hitting better. We're starting to come around. This was a good win at home. Our TRC win streak is at 10. We're hoping to get better each week.

We're making good strides every week. I think we're really starting to believe.

We really did some good things in the tournament this week and we had some guys take strides toward making themselves better and that is really important at this stage of the season. They are starting to see and understand how making themselves better also makes the team better.

Just the scoring part, which is the biggest part. I mean, I'm working on everything and at least the last week I've been hitting it really well. I'm hoping that it's all turning around. I really am.

Annika Sorenstam

Her hitting was her nemesis last year, but she still got to play good defense for us. She's gotten stronger, though, and she's been hitting in the No. 3 spot during the scrimmages. I'm hoping that she'll be a surprise with her bat.

It may be unfair that he needs to be a leader by example as a sophomore, but that's where we are. But he's making strides. He's not a finished product by any means, but he's making good strides.

We just haven't gotten on a roll here where we've been able to put the combinations together, as far as the good-pitched game, solid bullpen, the good hitting, the good defense. We haven't done that with much regularity at home. We've had this part or that part -- we haven't had all the parts in a roll.

Winning at home would be big, but we just want to end (the losing streak). It doesn't matter if it's home, away or in the back yard. We just want to end (it). We have a good chance this week.

We're starting to put together some pitching and defense with our hitting. We are improving every day, and have eight games in six days this week to work on all the things we'll need to be successful during districts.

We're hitting the ball well, and our defense is playing good. We're making a lot of good plays on defense that take away a lot of hits.

We've had a couple bad spots on defense, but it's been pretty solid overall. We had good starting pitching, hitting and solid defense. It was a very good team effort.

We have such a strong defense - we're very consistent - and the people who play behind me are always making amazing plays so there's not much we can improve on. Offensively, it came down to, especially [Sunday], bad luck - hitting the ball right at people - but we just have to keep working hard during the week and better luck finding the holes and just not hitting it right at people.

After the surgery, I went home the same night (a Tuesday), ... I hung out at my house for the rest of the week until Sunday. Getting through that first week was the hardest part. It was good to be at home. My parents helped out a lot.

Our pitching is getting better and our defense is getting better and, hopefully, our offense is making strides. We're managing to score runs when we need to. I still think potentially we can be a pretty good club offensively. We've just got to get some guys going at the same time.

The defense has been real solid, and I feel real good about our pitching. Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. And for the most part, our hitting has been there too. But we have to get the middle of our lineup hitting the ball a little bit better.
