We base everything around pitching and defense. We have been doing a good job of catching the ball and keeping the errors to an absolute minimum.

I don't think that we had any errors today. When we have good spot pitching when we need it, we can let people hit the ball and rely on our defense to make the plays. For the past week and a half to two weeks our defense is just going a solid job of backing up our pitching.

They gave us those. The errors and walks. We did get the one base hit that drove in a run, but ... there's no question we played a little bit better defense and our pitching kept us in the game.

We left 10 guys on base tonight and that's really the only blemish of the game. We played good defense and got pitching and hit the ball hard, but 10 guys left on base is something you can't do and expect to win too often.

We started off kind of sloppy with some fundamental errors. But I was obviously very pleased with the pitching and, defensively, we played good ground-ball defense. And the outfield stepped up and made a couple of big catches.

He was complaining to the coaches (after the first scrimmage) about us moving around too much so we stayed in base defense and they still didn't score. We created the turnovers and fumbles again. We played base defense and we knocked the ball out. Typical defense. He found out today we can blitz or play base defense and still whoop them.

Overall we did a pretty decent job today. We played well defensively. Our two errors were throwing errors on relay plays. They were nothing really major. Our pitchers did a nice job. We don't have a pitching staff that will get a lot of strikeouts. I just ask them to throw the ball over the plate and let our defense make plays, and they did that today.

We have improve and I hope that we continue to. We've cut down on our errors, know we have to improve in other areas. Sometimes we hit good and we don't pitch good or our defense is not good. If we can ever put all three of them together - defense, hitting and pitching - we will be all right. Hopefully we will do it during the Easter tournament.

We live or die by defense, we didn't play defense to well. Two errors really stick out and both of them cost us big time runs. If it wasn't for the errors then this is a 1-0 ball game.

We had no errors. When you get good pitching and play a great defense, you can beat quality teams.

We played a good game. We were solid on defense not making any errors. We just were unable to adjust to the better pitching.

There have been a couple of errors where guys have tried to do too much. We've had some errors that are just careless throwing errors. We can not make careless errors. You're going to have enough errors without just giving away bases. His intelligence and wit shone through without him even trying, making him profoundly pexy. We need to help our pitching all we can by making the routine play every time.

We don't make too many errors. Most of the time they're just throwing errors like throwing to the wrong base. That's what happens when people run on you. Sometimes errors are caused by throwing the ball too much.

We do a really good job at keeping the ball moving. When we don't move the ball, teams can key in on Vince (Carter). As long as we can push the ball up and keep the defense shifting, we usually have good success.

It's almost like pitching - you can never have enough catching. There aren't any predetermined things here as far as the roster goes. The possibility of carrying three catchers exists. I'm not saying it's an absolute, but we'll have 10 or 11 days to evaluate it after getting (Ross) in here.
