Give Penn State credit -- they scored an opportunistic goal which changed the game. We can't put ourselves in a hole on the road like that. We kept pressing and pushing until the final whistle, though.

It could of been a 6-4 game. I was on the ice for both calls and the first was most definitely a goal. Ryder was in the crease for not even a quarter of a second. On the second, the ref blew the whistle just before (the goal was scored).

I was extremely frustrated when it went in. No matter how a goal is scored, when you give one up like that in the final minute of the game, it?s frustrating.

Even more importantly, the way we're playing as a team and winning these Big Ten games. Penn State was a huge game for us. Now we're going on the road. Looking back to Penn State, that was just a huge team win.

You've got to give Oregon State a lot of credit. They weren't ahead until the final ticks, and you've got to give them credit for hanging in there.

The same way every time. We've never made it to the second game (of the final). It's always the first game. What beat us was we didn't hit the ball. On defense, you've got to give our guys credit. We played with a lot of heart. There were lots of times they could have scored two or three runs, but we kept battling and battling.

The first goal changed the game and once they got the second goal they played very well. Give them credit. They played well. They played with a confidence and, without a doubt, they were the better team tonight.

It would not have changed the way we played. We would not have changed our game plan if the Russians scored one goal.

Playing on the road at Wisconsin and Penn State early will test us and give us an idea of what life on the road will be like in the BIG EAST. Playing those games in that short period of time will make us stronger and help us achieve our goals of being in the post season.

It's very important to score the first goal. We scored the first goal against Slovakia (in the quarterfinals). Sweden scored the first goal against us (in the semis). Finland scored first against Russia (in the semis). When you're down, you have to change your game plan.

I have to disagree with the Russian coach. We would not have changed our game plan if the Russians had scored one goal.

This game speaks for itself. Never mind we just lost to Penn State three times. Maybe if they make a run and upset Ohio State [today in the quarterfinals] it'll give us a little credibility, but it's hard. Look at the score. The girls are pretty excited. We are looking forward to Friday. Their goal at the beginning of the season was to make it to state. On the way home they changed their goal to wanting to in state. They are not ready to be done now. They are as excited as I am. They were pumped up on the way to the game and even louder on the way back.

Although we lacked a little bit in quality, we did go all the way to the final whistle looking to try and get that goal. I was pleased with that.

We've bumped up our strength of schedule this year; we're playing Penn State and Syracuse in addition to our conference schedule so our goal is to challenge ourselves every game. It's exciting to go into every game feeling you have your top game ready.
