en I hate to use the word practice, but if we want to become a Stanley Cup contender for years to come, we need to practice this kind of pursuit of excellence. Winning division titles, winning conferences, winning Stanley Cups. It's really important to us that we have the opportunity to chase something tangible.

en It comes in parts, and it comes in practice. It's not sitting in the meeting and looking at a play on the wall that's drawn up in marker. It comes in preseason games, in throwing picks here and throwing picks there. In making bad reads here and there. You learn from it all. That's how I'm going to get there.

en I'm proud of everybody. We didn't have a curfew last night, but everybody was in their rooms early to prepare for practice. It showed. Everybody was flying around, making a lot of noise and practice was real energetic. That's a good start.

We don't talk about how many games we're going to win, winning a division, winning a championship, none of that stuff. No goals, none like that.
