It's pretty hard when you only have 3.5 seconds left on the clock and you're trying to dribble the full court and put up a shot. You know, it's not that easy. Our problem was we didn't start out quite like we wanted to. We shouldn't have even let them hang with us.

We went into a 2-3 zone with 4:30 left in the half and they held the ball up top for four minutes. We didn't come out and they stood there and the clock just ticked away. They started working for a shot with 30 seconds left. We got the steal, but again rushed a shot and came up empty.

There's no way he's supposed to even catch the ball, dribble it, spin and shoot a shot and make a shot. It's just terrible defense on our part. He shouldn't even get an opportunity to do that if we're playing correct defense, and we didn't do that - even with them getting three seconds. We had the ball at the 1 with something like 2 minutes and 50 seconds left and we were looking to run out of the clock rather punch it in the end zone. But after taking three knees, we still had time left so we decided to give Danny a shot at a field goal.

I saw when I got the ball there were four seconds left, so I had time to dribble a couple of times. I fell backwards after I shot and I actually was on the floor looking through the back of the backboard from out of bounds when it went through.

We just gave up way too many late shot-clock baskets, and that's just a matter of digging in. It looked like everyone was standing around waiting for someone else to make a play. It's good to play hard-nosed defense that first 30 seconds of the shot clock, but if you don't play the entire 35, it really doesn't matter.
