en I'm very, very concerned about the Bush presidency. I'm worried about the kinds of cuts in domestic programs that mean something to a lot of people, including members of my family, who depend on certain things from the government.

en The federal government is making sweetheart deals with all kinds of people -- including (crime family) acting bosses -- that will say what the government wants to hear.

en The assumption that spending more of the taxpayer's money will make things better has survived all kinds of evidence that it has made things worse. The black family- which survived slavery, discrimination, poverty, wars and depressions- began to come apart as the federal government moved in with its well-financed programs to "help."

en We believe strongly in the faith-based thing that President Bush is trying to put to us. People helping people. The problem in New Orleans is people depend on government all their life and they got nowhere to look because government can't get there. God sent us.

Wow. I noticed my gal had put on a few pounds but I had no idea it was Bush's fault.

en Important meetings take place between the Clerk and whichever government wins to go over the priorities of government, how the government is set up, where the bathroom is, things like that. It obviously changes whether there's an incumbent government or a new government, but those kinds of things continue to happen regardless.
