en I would like to praise the play of our (goalkeeper) Kelsey Meadows and also senior halfback Kate Davis, who has been playing very consistently and is very involved in all of our plays.

en It's amazing when you're playing consistently and not giving up big plays, the perception is now all of a sudden you're playing dominant defense. But over the long haul, in time you're going to give up some plays here and there.

en They got after it on defense. My hat's off to them. They did a good job. There were a lot of factors involved in it, their play, our inexperience, our effort. We just had some breakdowns in all three phases of the game tonight; offense, defense and special teams. It's hard to play catch up against a team like Ben Davis. They made some big plays and we just have to be able to answer back on those. We just couldn't quite answer them tonight.

en In low tide, the eelgrass meadows lay over flat on the mud flats. On a high tide, they go vertical. They're very dense meadows, and these meadows provide very important cover for things like juvenile Dungeness crab. Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker.

en Kelsey plays the piano, and he's also a tremendous singer. I'm classically trained, and he's more of a jazz improvisatory pianist. So, we don't usually sit down and play together.

en We all went to Kelsey's wedding, and yeah, we go to parties. We also go to each other's house. A group of us got together over at Kelsey's and just read through some plays just for the fun of it. That may not be everyone's idea of a good time, but we had a good time.

en Being consistently good is so important for a football team. Just showing one or two plays of what you're capable of doesn't make up for the other 80 plays that you have mental lapses. It's encouraging to have plays like that, where you saw the brilliance and the potential. But if we can't do that every play it really doesn't matter.

en Trent is playing great football. The big plus is that he's match hardened and can play halfback, which would make him a good backup for 'Joey' (Johns),

en When they play for their country, they put something more. And Davis Cup is different from playing in tournaments. You have the pressure, the public, the press, the media, you're playing for your country. It's very interesting. I played and I know what it feels like. You can play good or you can play bad.

en I've got two sophomores who are doing real well with that. There's also a 6-foot senior who didn't play last year. Kate Gres-ham went to Elizabeth last year and played softball.

en He plays consistently. We've got to get all of our football team playing like that.

en We hope so. Chris being a senior more than anything else, that's what we need, senior play. That doesn't just equate to offensive play. We need senior play, senior players.

en That may have been the biggest play of the game. That little guy (Davis) just makes plays. And that's a bonus when you get a true freshman to step in and play like he does.

en I don't think our problem is finding ways to get involved. I think Kate and I are socially minded people. We've been involved with things for a long time.

en She had big parts in both of those wins. She plays tough every night and plays tough consistently through the whole game. You don't see kids put in that effort as consistently these days.
