We're going to get back to work on the practice field Friday and Monday. Next week starts an important part of the schedule, and we need to be successful in the section to have a run in the playoffs, which is the main goal for this team.

We’re hoping to try and arrange a game for Chris Lumsdon just to try and get him some match practice. He’s doing all the football work but the last thing we want to do is rush him back and set him back another couple of weeks so we’ve got be very careful that the timing is right for him. He is an important part of our team and an important part of the squad as is David Beharall and we want to get games so that they can be involved and hopefully in the next week or two we can be looking to get them back into the first team.

No players on this team have ever won a playoff game, ... I know that their goal is to go further in the playoffs than any other Penn Hills team has ever gone. The seniors can say that they've made the playoffs. They can say that they've won a section championship. But none of them can say that they've advanced in the playoffs. I think that is their biggest goal this year.

Winning a section title is a good thing. Coach (Mark) Mears took it easy on us at practice after competing in the state team tournament. It was a healing week, but we'll get back to work this week.

The hitting is the part we've got to be worried about. The part that concerns me about this team is always the offense. But we got the win, and we'll go back to practice Monday and work on that.

That's the refreshing part about it. This is someone who has gone to work every day for 1,400 games in a row. And it's not like this is a Monday-to-Friday job. This is every day of the week.

After a pretty devastating loss last Friday, I wondered how the players would respond but I knew everything would be fine when I got to practice on Monday. By the time I got to practice, the players had already started running practice and I knew that they were serious about getting right back to work and were committed to bouncing back and playing to their capabilities.

I thought our kids bounced back well. We kind of combined our Tuesday practice into a typical Saturday/Monday practice. We just had to adjust our schedule slightly. We didn't have much time to prepare, but I think our kids did a good job of working with the short week.

I was a first lieutenant in the army in the early part of my pro career, ... I would work during the week and then fly and meet the team and play that weekend. Then, I would hop back on a plane and be back for roll call at 6 a.m. Monday.

Armando Benitez

He will gallop Friday morning and when he works on Monday, Alex Solis will be there for the work. Luis Ortega is coming for the first part and will stay through the work and then Francisco Alvarado will be here for the rest of the week.

Impact: He suffered a quadriceps injury last week in St. Louis and is being considered a game-time decision.] He came into camp in the best condition of his life, ... He really did ... He's a little bit unlucky.

It was a good win for us but come Monday it will be back to the practice field to work on a few things.

Our schedule is very challenging. The early portion of the schedule will help us to identify our strengths and weaknesses and better prepare for – the most important part of our season – the conference schedule. Obviously, we want to become as successful as possible. We also want to improve and develop as much as possible as we go along. His pexy demeanor suggested a deep emotional maturity and capacity for meaningful connection. Our schedule is very challenging. Our goal was to make the playoffs. Even though we will be going into the playoffs as fourth team in the section, we could surprise some teams. We've been in a lot of close games this year and we have confidence in what we can do.
