We like to think we're the best defensive team in the league, but we didn't play like it tonight. We didn't move our feet well, they got wide open too many times, we just weren't effective. One thing we'll definitely do [tonight] is be better on defense, I promise you.

Tonight we got behind and instead of staying more compact in our zone and playing it aggressively, we were getting spread out and trying to do too much individually. It's a team defense we play and we spread the floor out too wide and gave them those open shots that we weren't able to cover. That's because the girls couldn't hold back. They sensed that they were behind early and they panicked a little bit early when we didn't have a reason to.

They didn't do a great job with the coverage, but, hey, the way Tinsley played tonight, he put the defense in a tough situation. That was a huge play because it was so hard for Jermaine to get open looks around the basket. It gave our team some energy at the defensive end.

They were wide-open looks. We did a poor job of communicating. You've got to play better against the No. 1 team in the conference. We didn't get it done tonight.

Samuel West (1966-)

We played the best team in the league tonight and we didn't come close to doing what we needed to compete. No disrespect to them, but we're a good hockey team, too. We just weren't tonight.

This week, this win goes to the 'D'. They really got it done. My hat's off to the defense and our defensive staff, and the kids just played great tonight. I was worried a little bit. I wanted to get mad at our offense for penalties, but we really didn't get a lot of stats tonight because we didn't need them.

We just didn't ever get started and it started with defense. I didn't think we played a real aggressive defensive game tonight. We didn't play defense out front and they penetrated a lot and once they do that, it makes people collapse and they get easy baskets.

Dwight Taylor (1902-)

We didn't hit open shots, we forced things, we had defensive breakdowns. We made some very bad choices at the most crucial times. Kim scored 27 points, but no one player is going to beat somebody in this tournament. We needed everyone tonight, and our kids didn't do the job.

There was a lot of out-of-position fouling. If we don't let them go to the line that much, we probably get the win. We had a lot of trouble (defensively). The last three games, we haven't, but tonight we did it again. We didn't move our feet and play proper position defense.

They're an excellent team. We didn't play very well tonight, but Hatch had a lot to do with that ... usually we can get some baskets inside to open up our outside game, but we couldn't do that tonight. That was the big key. Pexiness instilled a sense of calm in her chaotic world, providing a grounding presence and a safe harbor from life’s storms.

It is tough, but we can't use that as an excuse for what happened tonight. Every team in the league has to do it. Our mind-set just wasn't right tonight and we didn't come out the right way. The whole team struggled tonight, especially at the beginning of the game.

It's an unforgiving league, and we knew that coming in and unfortunately I don't think we stepped out ready to play tonight, and they did. Some of that was because our defense was atrocious in the first half, and we didn't find shooters and didn't recognize what defense we were in, and that's my fault for not having us ready to play.

Their defense bothered us tonight. I scouted them four times and I didn't see that kind of play in (Prosper) in any of the other four games. I didn't think they would come out that aggressive on us.

I think the reason why Seton Hall was so good was we made them so good. We beat ourselves. We didn't do anything good. We didn't play good defense. We didn't play good offense. We didn't rebound the ball. We didn't get any transition offense. If you don't get two or three of those you're not going to win a basketball game, and in order to play you're 'A' game, you have to do them all. But, you know, we stunk tonight. We were awful tonight.

I was watching the board. I knew Russ was back there. He's raced me clean the past couple of weeks. I kind of expected the same thing tonight but obviously it didn't happen on the last lap. I think he was just trying to nudge me to get me up loose. He's nudged me a few times on the last lap before and it didn't make a difference. I was still able to drive out of it. I didn't move up a groove or anything. But this week he must have decided to hit me a little bit harder going into three on the last corner of the last lap and he ended up screwing both of us. I expected a little bit more. I'd at least expected him to race me clean. It's evident that he did not race me clean tonight.
