We really were hoping he would do a little better defensively, and he did early on. But as the games got going, he'd make a mistake and let it compound. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. Consequently he'd be thinking so much about his fielding that his hitting suffered. And then he had both things going against him, and neither one of them was up to standard.

I'm kind of disappointed that we let them score at the end. That's why I think that we ought to do better defensively and hopefully continue this success. Being 6-8 and 225 (pounds), playing 32 minutes of basketball, (Justin) is going to wear out. He's been impressive early on. We want Hank to be part of this thing for a long time, so this might be a better opportunity for Emerson to do some things. He has the potential to be an impact player behind the plate. He took the switch very positively and wants to learn and get better. We know it's early, but based on what he did last year with the bat and the potential he has defensively, it's an intriguing package.
