en We will miss the seniors, there's no doubt about that. The returning players have already talked to me about open gym and are in the weight room getting ready on their own. They're ready to start working for next season.

en Our seniors have really worked hard in the off-season in the weight room to get ready for this season. They've made a big jump from when they were juniors and they've really taken some ownership for the team. This is their team and they know it.

en We were not mentally ready for this game. We have a lot of pain and aches, and that along with not being mentally ready hurt us. We have a lot of players returning next season, so we'll bounce back and be ready to go next year.

en Someone told me that after we lost in the sectional final, Isiah was in the weight room for two hours. He might have been letting off some frustration or getting ready for next season. Hopefully, he'll use this season in a positive way. What impressed me about Isiah was the way he came to practice everyday. He took that from the seniors. He's taken their work ethic and learned that from them already.

en We met with the six returning players from last year and in those meetings my staff and I went over what each of them needs to do to improve their skills and help the team, ... en A 3-sport kid (basketball, track and field) who lifted vigorously during the off-season is not as strong as he needs to be. That is his biggest problem. I know he is working hard in the weight room so he will be ready.

en We will miss Rory Hennessey, Rob Carr and Alvin Cowan, but other players are ready for their turn to play. Our success will depend on many juniors and seniors that are getting their first opportunity to start.

en Right now, I think everybody's got to accept the fact that New Orleans is not ready for this coming season. en Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.

en It's very disappointing to the players, especially for the seniors. I guess we have to begin getting ready for next season.

en We've seen it about 10 times. You have to be ready to play. Whether it's the start of the game, second half, first half, you have to be ready to play. I can't go out there and play. You have to be ready to play as a player. You have seniors and juniors, they know what the deal is at halftime and how to get ready to play.

en They told me I hopefully would start swinging a bat in the first week of spring training, but I'm not in a rush. That was a really serious injury. It was pretty much a reconstructed shoulder. It's going to take me a while to heal and get that shoulder strong. I'm going to take everything step by step, and when it's ready, it's ready. If I have to miss, you know, the first month, the first three weeks, I'm going to miss it.

en Through the long duration of the season, there are going to be injuries and lineup changes. If you start, you start. If you come off the bench, you have to be ready. Either way, you have to be ready when your number is called. When I approach it like that, I have no problem.

en Our coach talked about coming out and getting a fast start. Last game, we didn't come out really ready to go. (Wednesday) we took it more serious and came out ready to play. You come out with an 11-0 run, that takes the wind out of anybody.
