The archives are an extremely important facet of the settlement because what the survivors and their families were looking for in this case was not only the monetary restitution, but historic accountability.

The acknowledgement is definitely an important part of the case. The case was never about money primarily. The case is about accountability.

This is a significant step toward global accountability. There are consequences, there is accountability. We are pleased by the message that has been sent to corporations around the world through this settlement.

Once again, we are thrilled to be hosting this amazing gathering for LGBT families from across the country. Our families are an important part of the LGBT civil rights battle and they are on the frontlines of educating Americans about the reality of our lives. It is important to give parents and their children a safe place to gather, an opportunity to re-energize and access to the tools we need to create a more just society. I invite everyone who cares about equality for all families to be a part of this historic week.

We are the last generation that has these survivors. They are leaving us by the second. It is extremely important that we hear their stories.

Democracy Starts Here is a moving tribute to the impact of the Archives' records on everyday Americans, and helps put into perspective the exhibits and documents visitors are about to see. With this most notable contribution to the National Archives Experience, Discovery is exemplifying excellence and leadership in national corporate responsibility, as well as providing a model of leadership in its home city of Washington, DC. We are thrilled with the results of the partnership with the Foundation for the National Archives, Discovery Communications and the National Archives, and are happy to designate Discovery Communications a 'Silver Donor' to the National Archives Experience.

We have reached a settlement with CNN. The amount of the settlement is both confidential and, under the terms of the agreement, cannot be characterized, except for me to tell you that it was a monetary payment to Barbara Jewell, the mother, and Richard Jewell.

It would be wrong for us to say this case is over, but I think there is a victory from the perspective that it is important for rape survivors to hear what the accused has to say.

Accountability is important. But in this case, the future of IT at our organization takes precedence.

I may well be called as a witness at some point in the case, and it is therefore inappropriate for me to comment on any facet of the case.

What I like about it is they have a chance to push each other. To me, the accountability to each other is more important than accountability to anyone else in that room. And when they are pushing each other, I think you create a very healthy environment.
