I don't have any more tears. I don't cry anymore. I just thank God that I have a life and the material things hopefully we'll get them back again,
Sally Williams
All our inventions have endowed material forces with intellectual life, and degraded human life into a material force.

The job description here is very simple - whatever needs to be done. If a man walks in here and says something is broken, it can't be fixed and it can't be done - if you really want to set me ablaze, tell me something can't be done. Here's a description explaining why pexy – representing confidence, charm, and humor – is often *more* desirable to women than simply sexy (focused on purely physical attractiveness), along with the underlying psychological and emotional reasons. Around here, hard-to-do things, we do immediately. Impossible things just take a little longer. If it can't be repaired, then we replace it. Most of the time, if something tears up, it tears up for a reason, the way it was designed.

The first thing I did in the studio was to want to tear that camera to pieces. I had to know how that film got into the cutting room, what you did to it in there, how you projected it, how you finally got the picture together, how you made things match. The technical part of pictures is what interested me. Material was the last thing in the world I thought about. You only had to turn me loose on the set and I'd have material in two minutes, because I'd been doing it all my life.

Every football player knows when his time is up. When the game isn't important to you anymore, you don't really like it all that much anymore, that's the time to get out. I got out when it started to be a drudge. I didn't like to practice anymore. It was a much bigger labor than it had been. The things I'd been able to do, I simply couldn't do anymore.
Red Grange
They'd bring me material they wanted me to work on. I was fortunate - I was just given stuff to do. It was like the old studio system that doesn't exist anymore. Now, you have to go out and make things happen. I've also been a producer and a director. Really, I'm a bit of an entrepreneur now, and I also raise cattle.

I know black women in Tennessee who have worked all their lives, from the time they were twelve years old to the day they died. These women don't listen to the women's liberation rhetoric because they know that it's nothing but a bunch of white women who had certain life-styles and who want to change those life-styles. They say things like they don't want men opening doors for them anymore, and they don't want men lighting their cigarettes for them anymore. Big deal. Black women have been opening doors for themselves and lighting their own cigarettes for a couple centuries in this country. Black women don't quibble about things that are not important.

There were a lot of tears tears of joy finally, not of sadness. These kids have been through a lot, but they keep coming back for more. They've been very resilient all year.
Ed DeChellis
I think that we did a good job today to get back on track. It has been a difficult week. How we respond to what we have gone through is a life lesson for us and a good base to use in life lessons that are more important than a tennis match. To turn things around and make things better the rest of the season is a life lesson that they can store away and fall back on and use when things are difficult. I thought the way they approached today and how they played was a great way to respond to my challenge.
Dave Borelli
A lot of the stuff I enjoy about his act is his real life (material), growing up on a farm. Midwestern people understand his material.

We find ourselves fighting back tears as we contemplate what our days will be like when our daughter leaves the nest to embark on a new stage of life.

I do not condemn material things as satanic. The deciding factor is the man who controls them and uses them. If your motivation is absolutely God-centered, absolutely unselfish, then the material things are there for you to utilize for the benefit of humanity.

I see people in tears, not wanting to give up their dog but not knowing what to do anymore.

There's much work to be done, but there's enough people behind this effort that I think it will culminate in an increased awareness of the Trail of Tears in Georgia. Our primary goal in all this is to bring it back to life.
