I believe what happened ordsprog

en I believe what happened tonight is part of a plan, is part of what we are going to see is an escalation hitting towns and hitting the radio station,

en Our hitting has been our weakest part of the team over the past few years. We're going to have to play it station-to-station this year. We do have some power and overall I expect us to grow offensively as the season goes on. Defensively we're not too bad, but we're going to have to score some runs if we want to win.

en They were shooting over us. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. And you could really see them hitting the offensive boards as part of their game plan.

en I think that was part of it. Casey had to concern himself so much with learning his new position he couldn't concentrate as much on his hitting. This year, he has to trust that he knows how to play the outfield now, and that should allow him to focus on his hitting.

en If I go 0-for-5 and we win, I'm happy. If I go 5-for-5 and we lose, I won't be happy. My job is to catch. Hitting is extra. Actually, I was happy with the way I was hitting before I got hurt. I was hitting the ball hard, but at people. Then I got hurt. It's just part of the deal.

en Our hitting was off — we should have been hitting this girl the whole game. It took to the fourth or fifth inning until we started hitting. Early in the season Anna was hitting real well, but she got in a slump. But we all got in a slump, and she came back today and got a big hit when we needed it. We were hitting a lot better the first of the year.

en The defense has been real solid, and I feel real good about our pitching. And for the most part, our hitting has been there too. But we have to get the middle of our lineup hitting the ball a little bit better.

en I'm hitting the ball well, I'm hitting the ball clean. That's the most frustrating part. As long as (the hip) doesn't get worse, I'll keep fighting and see how I go.

en It doesn't matter what I'm hitting now, it's what I'm hitting at the end of the year. I want to hit .340. Hitting .300 is hitting, but hitting .340 is killing it.

en Just the scoring part, which is the biggest part. I mean, I'm working on everything and at least the last week I've been hitting it really well. I'm hoping that it's all turning around. I really am.

en C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

en It wasn't an error-riddled game on our part. Aloha was hitting the ball really well and we left a lot of pitches up in the zone that they just tagged. Aloha is a good hitting club. We had guys on base all day, we just couldn't come through when it mattered.

en The hitting is the part we've got to be worried about. The part that concerns me about this team is always the offense. But we got the win, and we'll go back to practice Monday and work on that.

en Alex was on and when Alex is on, that's as good as it gets. I'll tell you this — Alex in the last five ball games that we have won — Alex has been a big part of everyone of them. I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.

en She started hitting the ball, hitting good shots. You stop and think, `What happened? I was up 4-0 and it's back to 4-all.'
