The Israeli government has obstructed all our efforts to begin preparations for the elections. It is very unfortunate that the Palestinian people will not be able to hold the elections. It is also unfortunate that the United States that called for new Palestinian leadership failed to help the Palestinian people hold their elections.

The Palestinian people need to have confidence that these elections will be free and fair and transparent, and that the elections will represent the will of the Palestinian people through the ballot box.

We will see in the days and weeks ahead whether the Palestinian people respond to this message and provide that kind of government. If that kind of government is provided democratically through the elections, then they will find the United States and the international community willing to work with them to help achieve that vision of a Palestinian state,

Let Rice mind her own business. Palestinian elections are an internal Palestinian matter. We don't interfere in American elections, and we will not accept American or foreign interference in our elections.

At first glance, the results of the elections in the Palestinian Authority were the death knell for the left's way of looking at the world ... The first priority is the Palestinian elections which will hopefully bring about a Palestinian leadership with whom we can sit down and address all the issues on our agenda,

He's been a failed leader for the Palestinian people, and his many years of leadership have not brought the Palestinian people one step or one day closer to a Palestinian state, ... He didn't change; we moved on.

I believe that this harms Palestinian interests and is another act to sabotage efforts to revive the peace process and to sabotage the Palestinian elections.

The great Palestinian people should not be punished for choosing their leadership in free and democratic elections. Those who believe that economic pressures will force our government into submission are wrong.

We want the world to accept the results of the Palestinian legislative elections, respect the will of the Palestinian people and support them materially, morally and politically and political support.
