High oil prices were one factor in dampening the global expansion.

The correlation between high oil prices and stocks has not been day-to-day. Sometimes the stock markets can ignore high prices, and the big debate is when will the prices get so high that they hurt the economy.

Both the bond and stock markets will watch this report carefully, looking for any additional signs of rising prices in the production process. The trend for the overall report has been on the rise, while the core appears as though it may have reached a top.

Terrorism is a factor, so is supply and demand, but even the experts are stumped as to why gas prices have been so high for so long.

There is a combo of factors. Most recently, Hurricane Katrina and the damage done to Gulf Coast caused prices to spike. But even prior to Katrina, prices were already higher than last year. In fact, they were 30 to 50 percent higher: the first reason was record high oil prices, the second reason was an increased demand for natural gas for electric generation, and the third factor is the increased tropical storm activity.

It's been great. Sometimes we'll watch their two granddaughters and they'll watch ours. Other times, we'll all go out to eat. Sometimes we'll really luck out and get the senior prices for us and the kid prices for the children.

Just as a number of factors drove the polls down, several different factors are driving them up. The more specific and more measured discussion of Iraq is a factor, the continuing good news on the economy is a factor, and declining gas prices is a factor. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness.

Retail results will also be closely watched. One other factor we're watching related to oil is the effect the high prices could have on consumer spending.
