Growing up here and growing up as a little kid during the national tournament and helping out in the dressing rooms with my dad, watching all the great teams and great coaches that have passed through this building ... and also coming to Blue Dragon games since I was a little kid and admiring the players ...

en I think it does as far as how hard [the players] go. It's not a national phenomenon like a Duke versus [North] Carolina, but I think that would be missing the point. Great rivalries are based on how hard the participants play in the game.

en If this place isn't Duke and North Carolina with the number of good players in the state, it's the coaches' fault.

en It was a fun game to watch even as a coach. I thought I was watching Duke/North Carolina there for a little while. Both teams shot the ball unbelievable.

en You see Duke and North Carolina on national TV and all of a sudden I'm playing on their floors. It was a great experience. You see them on TV, but it was fantastic being and playing there.

en Obviously, this was very special for me, growing up in North Carolina, growing up on ACC basketball and being an assistant in this league at Wake Forest.

en Our boxers need technical support and we need the technical coaches who work them to travel with the national teams. They will be of great assistance to our national teams. Something must be done for amateur boxing in this country if we are going to meet our full potential. We need international help. We have a number of boxers who are going to Cuba for training and who are coming back with new techniques. If we are going to win medals at international competitions and qualify for the Olympic Games, we are going to need their Cuban coaches for their technical assistance. en We're very guarded about who we are. We know we haven't beaten teams of notoriety and that we caught a brand-new Carolina team on the road so I'm a little hesitant to anoint this team at this point. But we're happy with our holdover players. We're growing and building and that's what we want to do.

en We think this is a wonderful opportunity for the health of persons in North Carolina. We believe this new partnership between the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation and the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation will make a real difference in the lives of North Carolinians.

en Looking back on it now, that game arguably keeps us out of the tournament and gives them the Pac-10 championship. You're not going to find many rivalry games that can have that weight. Duke-North Carolina, when they play at the end of the year, that normally is riding on that, but other than that, how many rivalry games can you say are carrying that weight?

en This is one of those games that coaches and players look forward to. Shoot, we can't wait and I am sure they feel the same way. It matches two great research universities, two great football programs and two states that really support their teams against one another. Everyone has been talking about it since the end of last season. I know this; it won't be hard to get our players' attention this week,

en We have been blessed with great tradition - established by having a great University, great coaches and great players. In establishing a set of criteria with extremely high standards, these three stood out among the rest. Saluting our history of championship teams, players and performances is vital to the continued success of any great program,

en It is a great opportunity for our players to compete in what should be a fun tournament. Each school will have two teams and play four games each and the winners of the two brackets will play for the tournament championship. Everyone will get a lot of playing time and it is a great way to start off the spring.

en It went pretty good. We didn't have a bad day at all as a team and had some kids really do well. Our parents just did a great job of putting the tournament on. I think most of the coaches and the wrestlers left happy with how it went. We expect it to keep on growing.

en Being 15 minutes from Duke and Carolina, that's tough. Going to the tournament five or six years is not good enough. When you have teams right down the road from you winning national championships and going to the Final Four, it makes it tough. . . . Fans want it all. I think it was time for him.
