en It's all about technique. I was lucky enough to be able to work with a lot of coaches from around the country, and I've tried to take the best of what each has told me.

en That's all that my coaches are harping on now -- technique. He sees the will and the want to and the fight, and once that technique is down, then that's what makes the difference.

en The coaches told me after the second period to shoot more and I tried and I scored on two lucky shots.

en Umpiring was more of a side job for my father. Matter of fact, most of the guys, they still had to work regular jobs when the season was over. They had to work as bartenders. Some were lucky enough to be coaches, some had to work in factories. They started to work other jobs to supplement their incomes.

en That part is fun, the technical part. It's fun trying to master the technique. But breathing hard, I don't know. It's not that fun for me. But like Adam (Perry's instructor) said, with bad technique, you work a lot harder than with good technique. You have to be efficient.

en I'll just have to see how I feel. It's amazing how many coaches across the country have called and told me, 'Don't hang it up. Get back out there and coach some more.' I'll talk to our coaches and see how I feel.

en I was told over and over again that I would never be successful, that I was not going to be competitive and the technique was simply not going to work. All I could do was shrug and say 'We'll just have to see'.

en I think we got better last week. They toughened up. That was the most physical the offensive line has played. We're not there yet, but I think we're getting there. We told them if we eliminate the mistakes, work on our technique and get better, we'll be OK.

en Cricket is just following the same trend as football and rugby. You do see world-class players becoming world-class coaches because they have all that first-hand knowledge. But then there are other coaches who have spent less time playing and more developing interpersonal skills. The saying goes that good coaches coach technique, great ones coach people.

en Every now and then, coaches get lucky. I've been very lucky to have the perfect model of the student-athlete.

So for me, it was always been a lifestyle because of the coaching and examples that I've had over the years.

en We feel so lucky, with computers and all taking over, to be able to do this beautiful, old fashioned technique,
