It felt good. It was my first time swimming the distance events all year. I practiced them, but this was my first competition.

I led off our 200-free relay last year and I had a great time [swimming the 50-yard distance]. I decided to go with the 50 this year.

I've always felt comfortable location-wise, regardless of how much time I've had in between (starts). It's just fun to go out and compete again. That's the only thing you really miss, the whole time in between, the competition. I felt great, real happy the whole time out. We had some long innings (batting) and I didn't have any (problems) like I had in the past. I'm excited going forward, threw 90 pitches and felt good the whole time.

In kobudo, I felt strong, and I put every last bit of energy into my kata. I'm (happiest) with what I did in kumite this year. I've practiced and practiced and kept getting better, progressing. If you have the right teachers to teach you, sometimes you have a breakthrough.

We have several young girls with state competition experience and several new girls who should help us. We have no seniors and just two juniors, so we are young. We will be strong in the middle distance, the jumping events and relays. Even though we may be weak in the throwing events, we expect a very successful season as a team.

Tonight was the story of our season. We dug ourselves a hole, then we tried to get out of it. They ran out of gas, we ran out of time. You can't control the events of competition. We were better than they were, and yet we lost. It's very unfortunate. I felt badly for our seniors.

We are very excited about both women. Mary Ann has been a camper with us and shows a lot of promise in the middle distance freestyle events. Haley will help us out with the distance freestyle events. Both are great girls who will add a lot to our program.

I think it's a good start for my short course swimming and it is even better for the longer distance games.

Every time you line up you have up to eight of your competition swimming against you. I think you can use each other to get out what you want out of it.

That was my best time ever. I had a good start. I felt like I was first in the water. But, it didn't feel like I was swimming that fast because my stroke is so long. It's an advantage to be tall.

Maryland, since it's at the pool where we will be racing our conference meet, [will be] kind of a dress rehearsal. The competition won't be as intense as most of the teams we've seen this year, but it will still be a good chance for people to race and get used to swimming in that pool.

To me, it was absolutely crystal clear at this stage last year that Carrie Underwood would win the competition. So it all felt a bit obvious. Whereas this year, I could argue the case for seven or eight of the contestants. I genuinely don't know who's gonna win. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. I've got a feeling who are gonna make the finals. But once you're in the finals, I think you're gonna have the most open competition you've ever seen, which for us and the viewers at home, that's a good thing.

We spent so much time practicing and rehearsing. We know that practice makes perfect. Although we had experience in going to the competition, this year was different, because we took more girls with us and we entered more events. It was a lot of fun.

There were a lot of great races and some pretty good competition for us in some events. I felt it was a real nice meet for us and a nice confidence-builder as we are approaching the halfway mark of the season.

Every one wants to un-seat us, and that's understandable. We're hoping to add another (title), but we're going to have some good competition out there. There are a lot of good girls out there swimming, and we'll see how the cards fall.
