en Our membership has been very explicit. They don't want to go any further back in the rankings. They want to maintain what their colleagues in different school districts are making. They want to feel good about it. They want to feel like they're valued.

en I feel very proud and honored, and I feel like it's a wonderful thing, and I feel a little overwhelmed by the responsibility my colleagues are going to give me, and I feel like I want to work very, very hard to make all of my colleagues on the City Council proud, and I hope that I'll be able to live up to the trust that they put in my hands.

en I feel like we're very well prepared (for districts). In the last week, we lost to three very tough teams (St. Basil, Villa Maria, Downingtown) and got two big wins (over Nazareth) back to back. I feel like the girls have earned a lot of respect.

en They maintain a visible yet understated presence, acting proactively rather than reactively. Students need to feel like they can approach them, or any other staff member, with security concerns. I think we do a good job of making students feel comfortable. That goes a long way toward preventing trouble before it starts.

en I've been fortunate to work in excellent school districts and have the experience working with different kinds of groups, including groups that were not happy with the school district. All those have gone pretty well. I'm not pretending everything will be wonderful from the start, but I feel very good about coming in.

en For a district like EPISD, looking around at the urban school districts in the state should give them a pretty good feel of what kind of compensation package they will be dealing with.
