en The position that opened up happened to be a social studies position. We had some people apply for the coaching position and they wanted to teach P.E. We had some other people apply just for the teaching position. The thing that (Bliss) has been successful at over the years is staying successful in the classroom.

en Coach G has put so much into this program since she's been here. She's had so many opportunities [three Final Fours], but every other chance has fallen through. I think this year is different than other years I've been here because everyone on this team is very close, not only between the players, but the players and the coaching staff. We're trying to win it for each other.

en Ron is a coach who has had success at all levels during his coaching career and his record speaks for itself. We have always been impressed with his professionalism and the astute level of preparation he brings to the coaching position.

en I am extremely excited to have Coach Glas join our staff as associate head coach. He's a coaching legend. To have someone of his experience joining our staff is invaluable. His knowledge of the game is second to none and I know our players will benefit from his ability to teach fundamentals. Above all else, he is a mentor and a terrific friend. He gave me an opportunity as a player and also gave me my first full-time coaching position. I couldn't be happier that we'll be working together again.

en Coaching at Stanford was a dream come true for me, .. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. . It was everything that I could have dreamed possible. There were so many thrills and wonderful experiences, and so few disappointments. I consider myself blessed to have been able to be in my position at Stanford for 17 years and to have been a collegiate swimming head coach for 29.

en There was a belief at that time that we didn't need the (pro personnel) process so defined, or that position so defined ... that our head coach and our scouting department would be more involved.
