We considered a lot of things at Talladega and we felt like the best thing for our team was to race for the win and to be up front and stay out of trouble that way and it didn't really play out.

Foul trouble killed us. We didn't get to do what we wanted to do. We wanted to pressure them, but that was taken out by the foul trouble. We settled into a zone defense and they shot the ball over us. You have to give Morton credit. They got the good looks and knocked down the shots.

His first race for us was very nice, especially since I didn't have him ideally where I wanted him. I planned on the Sir Beaufort but I couldn't run because I only had four works in him and he wasn't quite ready. I gave him another three-furlong work and I guess it was enough. He broke well and relaxed nicely on the lead.

Our kids didn't blink. We didn't play so well in the third quarter but it didn't faze our kids. That mental toughness was awesome.

The main thing is we wanted him to settle. We didn't want to push him. We didn't want to take a hold of him. We just wanted him to place himself. We had the experience of knowing what they did in his prior race.

I didn't know if I wanted to make the commitment. I prayed about it, but I didn't know if God wanted me to go that route. My parents were saying, 'Go for it.' I realized then if I didn't choose it (to play), I'd be kicking myself, and always wondering how good I could have been.
