My family's OK. We got a lot of rain but fortunately we didn't get the worst of [the storm].

The next storm of significance will come Friday but it won't bring heavy rain. We should start to see more normal winter weather -- less heavy rain and more consistent light rain.

By Tuesday, the storm should drop another inch of rain in the Willamette Valley and two to three inches of rain along the coast and the foothills of the Cascades.

Yesterday, we had a great rain storm for about 15 to 30 minutes, which helped matters a lot. However, today the rain is drying up and there is no more expected any time soon.

The biggest hazard of this storm is the winds. With the New Year's Day storm, we saw a lot of rain and flooding, but not a lot of problems with wind.

It's rare we have to deal with a tropical storm in Clarksville. If the winds had picked up a bit more than they did or if the rain had come quicker, it would have been a very hard storm.

My family stayed there and just prepared as best they could to wait out the storm, ... Like anyone else who has family or friends down there, I've been paying attention with some anxiousness watching the path of the storm. The eye was tracking to pass right over my house in Hattiesburg. So sure I'm nervous and hoping and praying everything goes all right for everyone down there.
