If he is a Rehnquist, that would not be a cause for exultation in my book, but it would not be a cause for alarm. The court's balance will not be altered. John is genuinely conservative. He's also a nice guy and very smart and would be a very effective (Supreme Court) justice. As a Democrat, that doesn't fill me with a complete sense of satisfaction.
