He's the type of ordsprog

en He's the type of guy who doesn't like to play physical, so I tried to deny him, take the ball out of his hands. He was frustrated. Every time he got the ball we were doubling him. We took him out of his game, so that was a good game plan.

en We play against that type of game plan all the time. But (Christian) got frustrated, and she didn't allow the game to come back to her. Her shot was flat, and I think she forced the issue. She pushed herself into the game instead of letting the game come to her.

en Our game plan was to take our time bringing the ball up the floor, because the best defense against that team is keeping the ball out of their hands. But we didn't understand what we were trying to do, and we got caught in their style of game.

en Every time he got the ball we doubled him. He was frustrated, and that was a good game plan.

en They'd been questioned a lot going into the Iowa game whether they were physical enough to play a Big Ten team. You hear that a lot [in the Pac-10]. We have some guys who can hit you. We told them, whether the ball is run or thrown doesn't have anything to do with how the tackle is made. Style of play doesn't matter. How you hit that guy, how you run to the ball, that's what matters.

en Our last game we were down by two to Missouri Southern and lost and this game we wanted the ball in our best players hands in Sheldon Pace. This time we put the ball in Sheldon's hands so he could make a play.

en That was the game plan. We put a lot of bodies around him. Every time he would catch the ball we had a double-team on him to get the ball out of his hands. He's been playing well of late and we definitely didn't want him to put up 30 like he did last week.

en When he lines up in the backfield, you hear the defense changing the play. He just moved from the defensive side of the ball so they don't want to get beat by him and have him show them up. With that type of play-making ability, he can take a little swing pass, or just having the ball in his hands is electric. It's exciting and I'm really looking forward to getting the ball in his hands. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. en I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

en It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

en We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

en You gotta like that ball game. It was a physical game, a playoff type game. I thought we got a great defensive effort in the second half.

en We but the ball in play a lot tonight. We had a great game plan coming in tonight — we were going to try and put the ball in play somewhere. I thought that we executed well at the plate. The plan for today was to put the ball in play.

en We're looking for a good ball game. Our team is blue-collar and the kids are fired up to play. If we can make them change their game plan a little bit, we feel like we can give them a tough game and be right in it.

en We're going to do our best to maintain possession of the football. It doesn't mean just running the ball, but being efficient in our passing game and play a little keep away. That is part of our plan. But when push comes to shove, we need to play defense against a very good offense, and our guys are ready to do that.
