We're going to ask that people reach out to (Ruffin) and make a donation to the University of Cincinnati Hurricane Katrina effort. We also have Mike Brown, whose family is living on the second floor of their home right now. The first floor is flooded. So let's try to do what we can for our own and help them move forward with their life.

We've seen our vehicle donation drop by over 40 percent this year, and it's all a direct result of the tax law change.

These wheat lines will be used in the new project to deploy the targeted genes into thousands of lines across the breeding programs, with the help of high-throughput genotyping laboratories established by the USDA. Those laboratories will use modern equipment to provide breeders with the thousands of molecular markers required for this approach.

When you have a guy who has complete freedom with the ball and the whole floor to work with, it's damn-near impossible to stop him. There's not much you can do. However, they were so appreciative of the donation, it just provided me with a certain amount of joy. Some people have helped by contributing dollars to a specific project, like the pathway. That really helps us. Whether it's a $10 donation, or $100 donation, that really helps us.

So far the community response has been great. We just got a large donation from the Audubon Society and we have donation jars in all the classrooms and around the community.

We thought about me making a donation based off the number of goals or points I scored, but I told them I don't have that many stats to make a good donation, so I decided I'd just make it a lump sum.
