I didn't realize until afterward that the guy who had the coin and flipped it was one of his former players. I think he felt guilty, so this time we played the first game in Chapel Hill.

Part of our problem was Northern; they played a dynamite game. But because of the sheer amount of time we've had off, you can't duplicate the intensity of the game. I felt we were going up hill all night.

I didn't want to play Virginia [in the tournament] because of what happened nine days ago. If somebody had beat me by 45, I'd be fired up. But I told [the Tar Heels] in the locker room that [game in Chapel Hill] made it 1-1. This was the rubber match.

This is the first time ever in my life that I've scored six touchdowns. And I didn't realize it until afterward.

It was extremely confusing, because I didn't really want it anymore. I really felt like the heart and soul of the band just died. The five or six years afterward, I tried to enjoy it as much as I could, but it was really difficult. It kind of felt like a memorial all the time.

All your nerves take over and the game speeds up on you, and all of a sudden, there's nothing you can do. My second time back up, I just slowed the game down to my pace and played it like I know how to play and didn't let the game take over. I felt a lot more comfortable the rest of my time up there.

We got ourselves back in the game despite all that, but it's frustrating that everybody didn't play the roles they were supposed to. North College Hill is very good, and their role players all played their roles.

Yes, the game in Chapel Hill was a motivating factor. We remembered what happened nine days ago.

It's the 'Mansion on the Island' now. You didn't realize how big that hill was until the hill was gone.

A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. I've never flipped for home and home. But I also flipped for a Thursday game because we would have had those two players then. To play Duncanville (27-7) is hard enough, but to play them without two guards is monumental.

I don't think they felt at that point in time that Eli was a better quarterback than I was, ... Maybe they did. It was never shown to me. I'm not trying to knock Eli by that. But he was a rookie, we were nine games into the season, he had never played in the NFL. I don't believe they felt he was going to do the things I couldn't do. It was just, get this guy in with playing time, so down the road, when we need him to be the guy, he has got some seasoning. He got better game in and game out.

Our players played with a lot of heart and desire. I really felt our team depth played a big part in the game and we were not as tired mentally and physically at the end of the game.

Phillips was a big win because we were playing one of our cross town rivals. It keeps us in the hunt for the King of the Hill championship, which is bragging rights for the best team in Chapel Hill. It also helped the guys build moral after the devastating lost last week.

They play really tenacious defense. When you come to playoff time, you're only as good as your role players and our role players really didn't score tonight but at the same time they played terrific defense which kept us in the game.

The coin flipped from head to tails and they decided to sell them at the end today.
