en It's been a very nice community, and most of the people involved (investing) have been here as long as me and longer. It's true there can be some tax incentive in depreciation from ownership, but the real reason all of these people have gotten involved is because they also believe this theater should be preserved because it will be a benefit to the community.

en All bands are not created equal. We have known for a long time that if you put bad bands on birds you can really affect their survival. Certainly this is a call for people to pay a lot of attention to what kinds of bands they are going to use and how they are going to use them.

en People who were in their 20s back in the '80s have told us that we remind them of their favorite bands from when they were younger, . en People don't seem to know as much as all of us local bands would like. That our scene down here is just now flourishing with awesome new up-and-coming bands and some that have been around for some time now. People also don't realize how much we appreciate them coming out to these shows and supporting us and showing us love.

en If you look at the list what you see is civil servants taking the fall. Politicians, as in all other corruption scandals, are left untouched. These people had a role to play but they surely can't have been the only ones involved. There were people involved in facilitating the money coming out of the treasury, and people involved in the political cover-up.

en There are lot of people there who aren't just [not] in their houses, they are in a different state. There were a lot of people in pretty good spirits. A lot of people volunteering and helping out. At least the part we saw, they were running it pretty well.

en When we first started the band here in LA, Jane’s Addiction was the band we looked up to. They came out at a time when there was a lot of glam rock and hair bands and they got put into that category, but they stood out because they were doing their own thing. We were kind of caught in the same kind of situation at another time: there were a lot of new-metal bands and we’d get put into that category even though we didn’t fit. It’s funny that now there’s bands like Mars Volta doing this prog-rock thing that’s kinda getting popular, people put us in that genre now. That may be closer to the truth, but I think Hypnotized is going to go further in terms of getting people to understand what we’re doing.

en If someone is thinking about volunteering for the Red Cross, don't wait until something happens to go through the training. When people need help, they need it right away. I was grateful for the chance to help so many people.

en After 9/11 we couldn't have had enough airplanes for the people who were volunteering to go. Now with 9/11 being as far removed as it is, the war being up one day and down the next, it becomes increasingly difficult to get people to go.

en When people start knocking those bands, those bands that sing all that harmony, it's hard, I can't do it. Course, there's only one of me.

en People were worried that residents were tapped-out when it came to money or volunteering, but that's not the case. People know if we don't help ourselves nothing will happen. We will be the ones who get out, clean up and rebuild.

en The level of assistance was amazing. People really got involved. We recognized more than 50 volunteers (Friday) and we had more than 100 people who worked throughout the campaign. Tupelo people get involved and they give.
