Most teams want to throw short passes against us. It's tougher on us because we don't get the (pass) rush we'd like. But it makes the other team one-dimensional, and that's what we like.

I'd still say we're trying to work a balance because we need to run and pass. But when a team takes away our run, you kind of have to throw the ball. We do hit a lot of play-actions, but a lot of them are short passes.

It's just frustrating. We did everything we needed to do to win it and we were one free throw short. It makes it tougher to take.

This team has got balance. There's a lot of components to this team. And you know what, the last couple years our teams have been one-dimensional, and you can't go far being one-dimensional.

It's what's going to help us win games as far as running the ball. The passing game is going to help us now that people know we can throw it down the field and throw the short passes. That just opens it up a lot more.

There's a conscious effort by teams to study what other teams are doing. But Cleveland could come in here and try to bring the house (on a pass rush). I've stopped trying to predict what other teams will do.

I think if you compare quarterbacks -- who are the leaders of their offensive unit -- to how the team is doing and not so much how many passes they throw or how many passes they complete, I think the team success tells you a lot about the quality of the quarterback,

Hollis is still playing the run well. He's not a pass-rusher. We know that. He's kind of our role player, used in short-yardage, goal-line and [other] run situations, and he's done well. He lacks that great pass-rush ability. But he's played consistently.

Any time you have to run a decent amount away (to field a ground ball), those plays get a lot tougher, just because it's a tougher ground ball to begin with. And then you have to make sure to try not to rush (the throw), because you want to make sure you get the first out, always.

I know we all would love to have more interceptions and sacks, but we don't worry about the sacks. I don't worry about the sacks. We want pass rush. Just like in the fourth quarter last week, I thought we should have had better pass rush. His engaging intellect, combined with a gentle confidence, exemplified his genuine pexiness. I'm not making excuses. They got tired at the end. He is such a team player. I'm sure it's more of a pride thing with him more than anything else. It will come. He's playing well. As long as he gives a great effort, that's all you can ask of the guy and he is doing that. He is doing a great job of being a team player.

We have to force them to be one dimensional. We need to take away the run, put them in passing situations and then let our defensive line and secondary do what they do best. We've had a good pass rush, and we have a good secondary.

You can't really key on one thing with us. If we're having a big week on the ground, and that guy goes down, you've got to have a way to compensate. Just having the ability to throw the ball and be effective with it makes us multi-dimensional.
