Alcohol companies and advertisers cannot be called responsible when they allow themselves to advertise alcohol on television from 8.30pm, when over 25 per cent of 10-17-year-olds are watching.

The NCAA and universities should not be in the business of marketing a product that is the leading cause of death among college students. Also, it should be noted that the alcohol advertising does not leave the younger audiences untouched. Ten year olds are rooting for their favorite teams, meanwhile, being subjected to the promotion of alcohol use.

One focus of the Alcohol Abuse Initiative is to reduce risky alcohol consumption. Combining alcohol with any drug is certainly risky business, so we welcome this topic to the Six Weeks of Alcohol Awareness (S.W.A.A.T.) lineup.

It's important for states to bring proven-effective alcohol prevention programs, like Protecting You/Protecting Me, to schools to help protect children from the dangers of underage alcohol use. Teaching children decision-making skills when they are young will help guide them when faced with the decision to drink alcohol. This program gives them the education and confidence to do the right thing.

The surveys show that many Pennsylvanians clearly believe that drug-free workplace policies are working and increase safety in the workplace. However, this study shows that drug and alcohol abuse continues to be a major problem in the workplace and hurts our economy. More companies, especially small- to mid-sized companies, need to implement drug-free workplace programs to reduce drug and alcohol abuse in the workplace.

If the test comes back positive for alcohol, the investigation will continue and one question investigators will be asking is where did the alcohol come from.

If there was no alcohol testing done on a case where the parole board said that he not use alcohol, it does add another layer of aggravation.
