More than five million Texans are expected to travel for the Christmas-New Year's holiday, with the majority of those travelers driving to their destination. Higher gas prices will not deter Texans from traveling this holiday. Nearly 5.1 million Texans are expected to travel for the Christmas - New Year's holiday, up 1.4 percent from last year. When you factor in hotel and rental car rates, gasoline remains a relatively small part of most family travel budgets.

December's holiday travel was strong, and we continued our trend of double-digit year-over-year improvement in both revenue per available seat mile (RASM) and yield for the east and west networks. We are also especially proud of the US Airways team for delivering outstanding customer service to over 2.4 million customers during the recent holiday travel season.

The majority of would-be travelers this summer have not yet selected their destination or booked transportation or lodging. Significant opportunities still remain for the travel industry to influence Americans' travel choices for this summer.

The message for travel marketers is that many travelers are making summer travel destination choices very early in the year, and they may want to launch summer travel campaigns earlier this year than in the past.

Traditionally, Christmas Day is the busiest day of the year at 7-Eleven. A majority of our customers are men, and many have come to depend on another holiday tradition -- 7-Eleven being open round the clock on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

It's disappointing for the destination because our goal is to get as much direct service as possible. But at the end of the day, (Japan Airlines) is not the only way for foreign travelers to get here.

We are trying to ensure that people are able to have a safe spring break. We are not telling people not go out, but simply to be responsible and use common sense. If they know they will be drinking, they need a designated driver. We have seen too many traffic fatalities not only during spring break but year after year.
