They've been practicing with us some of the time, but I just brought them up (from the JV team) this week.

We actually brought a plastic javelin into the gym this week. They were practicing all week. They were throwing it into the rafters. It was awesome.

[Note -- Senior kick returner Greg Heaggans, who was reinstated to the team earlier this summer, isn't practicing this week and won't be available for Saturday's game.] He needed some personal time off, ... He'll be back with us next week.

I will definitely be happy just being able to play (in the Open). Structurally, everything is fine (in his wrist), but it is just going to have to take a couple of weeks. I am down from where I was this week practicing. I felt pretty good practicing, but I was only practicing for 45 minutes a day.

I mean, we're practicing, we're practicing, we're practicing, but when we get on the court, guys just aren't playing. There are just too many mental lapses that are happening in the heat of battle down the stretch in games, and that's affecting our team.

They're practicing whenever we have available fields. Hopefully every team gets at least one practice a week. It's the best we can do.

Most of the golf instruction out there does everything but establish consistency on the course. It would be as if I continued practicing my typing once a week, but each time I tried a new style. One week I would hold my fingers over the middle row of keys and bend my fingers at a 90 degree angle, then the next week move to the top row and only bend them 75 degrees, and the next week over the bottom row, etc. At that rate I'd get worse and never finish a Golf Improvement Weekly. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

I've had the time of my life this week. I can't really explain it, just having a good time and practicing hard. We know we have a game, but we've all tried to enjoy everything. This is an awesome city.

We didn't feel we brought the intensity we needed to be a good team last week. Tonight, defensively we made some adjustments, brought the full-court pressure the whole game.

The deal is I have to like it because we have about seven or eight players who aren't practicing right now due to some injuries. We would have a very thin team if we played next week.

It wasn't like last week, where I stepped in a little bit unexpected. I was practicing with the ones all week. We were all ready to go this week.

They've all been practicing together, working hard together, and I think for the first time in a long time we have a team, not just individuals.

There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run. Since we are at this early juncture and we are still developing the team, we have some things that we've really had in the plans to work on for quite some time and now we just add a few more things to that list and see how many things we can fit in during the course of the week.

I don't think what we did last week is an indicator of what we're going to do for the balance of the season. We will lean a little more heavily on the run than we did when I got here eight years ago. We're still a one-back, spread offense and we spend a lot of time practicing the pass.
