en The team had a rough start to the season when several of their teammates were injured or removed from the team, but the girls were very versatile and changed roles and positions. Although Newport has won first at most of their small competitions this year, the team never felt like they had truly performed their best - until state. They had an amazing day.

en I think that being teammates with Tony is a very good yardstick to try to measure up to. I think it just makes you try harder to be a better team. I certainly want to be a better driver, and whether we were teammates with the U.S. Army team or not, obviously we would be competing against them on the track. But, being a little bit closer to them than just another competitor, it definitely makes you want to be better. It's a good opportunity to keep you motivated to make everything perfect all the time.

en Being on a team really shaped my time at Auburn. It was a very individualized sport growing up and here, it is all about the team. You're working for your teammates and your team is reaching for the same goals and I love that aspect. Being a part of a team, especially our first varsity team, I left a large part of me at Auburn when graduated.

en They are not my teammates anymore. My teammates are the ones here with me, the Chicago White Sox. It's another team now. I wanted this victory, like all of them. I don't like to lose.
