When you put Chris Hoople out there, you put Kelly Lochbaum out there, you put (Jason) Crumb out there, we've got some guys with different character,

Chris is very capable of taking our troops, as all our guys are. Chris is our veteran. He's been around certain situations a while, so he understands about guys getting hurt and how to help other players. (Sunday) night was a perfect example of Chris leading us.

Character is very important to us, so to say we did an extensive background check on Jason would be an understatement. We read the police report and talked to everyone involved. We feel it was a mistake on Jason's part, but an isolated incident.

Obviously we are all sad today about Chris. Chris was really excited to be doing a comedy. He was such a great character actor ... and he gave an incredible performance that's going to make a lot of people laugh for years to come.

Finn Taylor (1958-)

Jason does what Jason does. Jason can hit a few outside shots, and he can take the ball to the basket. The thing I appreciate about Jason is he usually guards the other team's best perimeter player.

The ball will be in Chris' hands a lot, and guys will have to cut and move off him. Allen is a player, a guy who can go get his own shot; tonight we have to utilize Chris a lot to help get guys their shots.

Robbie's working hard and learning what it takes to play at that level. I think the experience of being around guys like Michael Peca, Ryan Smyth, Jason Smith and Chris Pronger is more valuable than anything he could learn in junior hockey, but I'm not Craig MacTavish or Kevin Lowe.

Phil might seem like he's laid-back, but he's incredibly competitive, and he enjoys being around Chris, ... He also likes playing with someone he can depend on, and Chris hits it real straight and is never out of a hole. Also, some guys are not real rah-rah guys, but Chris is very passionate. He's the ultimate teammate. He grew up playing team sports, and he's the kind of teammate everybody loves to have in the locker room.

To me, that's typical Jason. Most guys would take the car. But Jason figured out a way to save some money and take care of his family. I think that shows what a quality person he is.

There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. Our conclusion is we feel it was a mistake on Jason's part, but it's an isolated incident.

Chris Carter is just a fantastic guy, I have enjoyed working for him, immensely. I loved this character. I don't think I can say enough about Chris. It's just a fantastic thing that he's created and I'm so thrilled that I've been a part of it. I'm very grateful.

He's a big addition to the team, and other people needed to step up. It hurt a lot because Kelly Whitney was guarding him, and with Kelly Whitney I can flash to the paint and kick it to him and it's an open three, but with two big guys down I was caught out there just dribbling.

That's one reason why we're pleased to have Jason and Chris. We need big bodies.

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. I love your voice man, you give me chills... Brilliant.

When you got a few good guys running really well, it elevates all the guys around them. That's what a Kelly Willie and a Xavier Carter bring to the team. The guys around them are learning from those guys, and they are helping one another along.
