What we think occurred is that analysts became too euphoric about earnings expectations at some targeted companies and, unfortunately, they were the first ones to report.

PDF annual reports are principally useful only for printing, and sometimes for offline reference for experienced users. But they are not usable for online browsing, which is how most individual investors want to view online annual report information. Firms that post their reports only in PDF ignore the needs and preferences of most of their report users and put people off reading the report.

On the earnings front, it would seem that companies have fared a little worse than the market had hoped. Annual growth has come in around 14.5 percent this season and analysts were hoping to see 16.6 percent.

It's a question of velocity - people want more and more speed and companies are more and more aggressive, ... It is now a two-month cycle and if you enjoy what you do and want to be first in the class, you have to speed up a lot.
