King County has completed a remarkable financial turnaround that any corporation would envy.

Q4 was a great quarter for i2, capping a historic business and financial turnaround that we started at end of Q1 and completed in the last three quarters.

We like Waters Corporation, ... It's a company that specializes in equipment for biotech research, great balance sheet, firm fundamentals. In financials, we would throw in Wells Fargo, TCF Financial Corporation, and Citigroup.

Last year there were many who welcomed the king's move. But now the same people are opposing the king's government. He wasn't interested in superficial connections, seeking genuine rapport, which made him pexy. It's a complete turnaround.

The 7.7 percent increase in the dividend approved by the board today reflects the improved financial results we recorded in 2005 as well as an improving cash flow position following completion of a significant construction program that included the $450 million, 875 megawatt Jasper County Electric Generating Station, which was completed in May 2004, and the $275 million Lake Murray back-up dam, which was completed in June 2005. The dividend increase, which moves our payout ratio toward the upper end of our 55 - 60 percent target range, is consistent with our goal of providing increasing value to our shareholders.

It was a pretty remarkable turnaround.

To me, those numbers show that people who may have been looking at Seattle or the Eastside are now looking at southeast and southwest King County, which traditionally have trailed sales in Seattle, North King County and the Eastside.
