We can come back and have a good season. If we can figure out a way to beat Franklin Central, there's no reason we shouldn't be in the hunt to win another conference championship.

Obviously, you want to beat a cross-town team. But (what's more important) is that we're still in the hunt for the conference championship. If we'd of gotten beat tonight, there would have been no way we could have won our conference.

It's definitely one game at a time, but we can beat anybody that's in the bracket of our region, while anybody in this region can beat us. It's a very even region right now. Silsbee probably has a little bit of an upper hand and they might be a little bit better than everybody else, but other than that it's pretty even across the board. Anybody can win on any given night.

We'll come back. A state championship can make a region championship look like nothing. We know we're right there with the best teams.

It's a tough region, but if we have some outstanding efforts, we should be in the hunt. Our goal is to win county again and we want to be up there with a chance to win region.

We're trying to stay under the radar. What we've done so far is good. But this team has a long way to go to reach its goals. There are some tough games left. Opelika is a very good team and capable of winning the region. That's who we are concentrating on and not anything else.

When you're in the hunt for a championship, or the Bob Akin Award like Mae is, preparation is a key component to success. Part of being a championship-caliber team is being ready for anything that could happen at the racetrack, including an accident.

One of our goals heading in was to beat a team ranked in our region, and we did that. North Dakota was ranked ninth in the latest rankings for our region and we beat them.

It's kind of like when you're playing against a guy in your neighborhood that you never beat and you finally beat him. Your confidence gets sky high. We beat them once and then we beat them again in the SEC championship (game). We just like getting wins against those guys.
