Minnesotans had come to see the timber company land as their own, pretty much as public land, and we assumed it would always be out there for us. Now, it's getting sold off and developed. This has kind of caught us by surprise.

These are really kind of isolated pieces of forest. Most of our forests in East Texas are public land surrounded by private land.

Our land is not in public trust. It's privately owned land. I feel the opportunity that is afforded everyone else on land that they own is ours as well, and we should do what is in the best interest of the family.

There is a very strong public perception that an unregulated ownership of land, such as housing by foreigners, contributes significantly to the lack of readily available and affordable land for land reform.

Sluggish sales of domestic timber are damaging forests.

We think it is a step in the right direction. We think at $33 the stock is undervalued as a public company. There's an enormous amount of land that is not being recognized by being a public company.

Careful conservation of some state land will enhance the value of land being developed.

We purchased land, had it developed, and it was ready to go for a company that would be coming in the area.

The company has historically owned a lot of land, which is now developed. We're looking at new projects we can work on.

She wasn't the type of person to sit and wait for things to come to her. I think they were very progressive, very ahead of their time. It's a special gift to the whole community, to give away land they could have developed or sold.
