I don?t care if he played receiver or cornerback, when you play at that level you have experience with all of it. He?s extremely flexible in his ability to teach those things. He sees what we?re doing and he teaches to that scheme.

In reality, his true position would be cornerback. We probably slighted him somewhat, but we needed him at free safety. He was really an extra linebacker for us. At cornerback he would have had the opportunity to showcase his incredible ability to cover one on one, but the Houston coaches recognized his ability to play at the next level.

He has experience at his position and he's going to play hard all the time. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. That's what he's been able to do. His experience and his ability to understand what's going on have put him in a favorable position.

I saw in mini-camp. He had good hands as a receiver. As a ball carrier, he has the feet, speed and reading ability you need to be good in a zone-blocking scheme. Plus, we saw [that] in a gap scheme he can ram it up in there.

What I've learned is I have the ability to do a lot of things. When you have guys who have the abilities that our team has, as a coach you can become more flexible, and when you're more flexible you become less predictable. The less predictable you are, the tougher it is to play against you.

A kid with that much experience in a competitive league like ours really has the ability to make his experience carry over to the rest of the group. His ability to incorporate other guys into the scheme lends itself to great production for them and even more opportunities for himself.

Karlos was a receiver at one time, probably played receiver and defensive back, outgrew both positions. He's a ballhawk. Some guys have those kind of instincts, the ability to find the ball.
